Positive Highlights were the meals, the restored, high ceiling rooms, the compact Common Bath and the helpful staff (for baggage forwarding). Also the underfloor heating of the wooden floors means it's the best location for cold weather touring. Positive This is a good (and maybe only) place to stay is you're going to visit the Takeda Castle ruins, known as Japan's Machu Picchu (although interesting, it doesn't compare at all). Positive Dinner and breakfast were both superb. The location, bang in the town centre and near the footpath up to the castle ruins, was perfect. It is so nice to find a historic building restored and used in this way! It was a real treat to stay there.
