    Positive This was one of the finest stays I've ever experienced in terms of the overall package; our host, Shimo, was so warm and was an incredibly gracious resource. I was blown away by the hospitality, attention to detail, and how we felt at home so far way from home.

    Positive Shimo's place is amazing, location is near many great temples and parks. The facility is a traditional japanese ryoken and it really gives a great feel. It has all the comforts of a modern home with the traditional aspects. As a bonus we also had bikes to use and bike around the neighborhood and feel like a local.     Positive The Machiya proved to be the perfect housing for our stay in Kyoto and Shimo, the host, proved to be invaluable in his recommandation. We think the setting is perfect for a family and we loved to stay in a real neighborhood instead of a touristy place. We made extensive use of the bikes that were loaned to us.
