    Positive The location was beautiful, right in the heart of Sōunkyō Onsen with easy access to the gorge and waterfalls. The traditional atmosphere of the hotel added to the charm — I liked the tatami rooms and the relaxing hot spring baths. The staff were polite and helpful, and check-in was smooth. It was a peaceful stay surrounded by nature, perfect for a short esca

    Positive It is newly renovated. Location is in the heart of Sounkyo onsen, right next to the tourist center and ropeway station. The onsen was adequate and had a sulfur smell. The staff were all young, spoke English and responsive. The breakfasts and dinners were simple, but good. There were free evening drinks.
