Positive The in-house onsen is small but beautiful. There's an option for indoor and outdoor. No in-house sauna, though. However, they provide you with free access to another onsen nearby that's huge with several bath options and a sauna. The location is close to a bus stop and is walkable to the nearest train station. Dinner was served in a different establishment,

Positive Staff went above and beyond to try and communicate the best they could with us. Booking the private bath was very easy and enjoyable. The entrance is on a slope so it might be difficult for some guests, although in my opinion if you have trouble with this slope Hakone in general will be difficult.

Positive The ryokan was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was super friendly (make sure you have Google translate). The dinner that was included was wonderful (note the restaurant was in a mall complex a short walk away). It was a bonus to have a private onsen. The open air museum was a 20 minute walk away.
