    Positive The food was impeccable and delicious. A highlight of our trip to Japan (including Tokyo and Kyoto). Both breakfast and dinner were served in the kaiseki style and it was incredible. The "room" was more like a mini-house a with a big living area downstairs and a big bedroom and a private onsen upstairs. The service at this hotel was very much 5 stars! Everyo

    Positive Hakone Suishoen's facilities and staff were excellent. The hotel was a blend of the old a new: the living quarters were new-ish, while the dining facility is a traditional Japanese building. We also loved the onsen on the balcony, which was enjoyed by the whole family. The beds were quite comfortable, and our 2-story unit could be set up with tatami beds for
